Previous to my recent move I had my system optimized. Since re-hooking everything back up I am having an output problem. I have a Yamaha RX-V2500 Receiver connected to Polk LSI15s. During my previous setup I couldn't turn my receiver past -25db w/out my wife yelling at me. Now I have to crank it up to get the same volume out of it. My previous set up I had component cables, I now went completely digital. Would that have something to do with it or is it more likely that one of my settings has been thrown off due to being unplugged, etc... I look forward to any help.

was the memory guard on, and did you save the eq settings from the previous setup? I use to lose my settings on my 995 everytime the power went out:mad: sure its something simple, just go thru it 1 step at a time starting with the connections.

Is the new room bigger than the old one?
When you say "crank it up", to what volume level?
The digital cables shouldn't make much difference. It sounds more like a set-up or room acoustics problem.

Is it possibly you had the individual speaker levels adjusted a bit higher in your old place? I would start by checking where these levels are. Also, check and see if the Volume Trim function on your Yamaha has reset back to it's zero point. This can be found by going into the Input menu in case you're unaware. Not sure on your model, but on mine it has a range of -6 dB to +6 dB. Turn it up and see if that gets you back to where you were before. :)

Does you receiver have YAPO? If so you might want to recalibrate using the included microphone. That should walk you through all the setup parameters or allow you to go back and see all the parameters for your new room.

Have you figured it out yet? My only educated guess is that your settings may have been set to factory original.?.? The LSi series was 4 ohm so I do not know if you have a switch in the back of the receiver or if its in setup screen? Running 4ohm compared to 8 ohm is gonna kick watts up about 40% which in turn pushes the speaker more easily at lower decibel levels. Just a thought probably wrong but you never know.

Receiver settings

FYI,
The 4/8 ohm setting on the Yamaha receiver will only reduce the voltage rail to limit allow LESS power to be delivered to 4 ohm speakers. AH articles recomend that you keep the receiver in the 8 ohm mode and make sure there is adequate ventalation.
