Pro Amp connections

I recently purchased an SVS 2039 passive cylinder sub on Audiogon. It came with a Samson S700 amp. The seller neglected to send me the adaptor he was using to hook up the sub cable from the amp to the pre amp.

I purchased some 1/4" male to rca female adaptors that plugged into the amp just fine. But I'm not getting any sound from the amp......or very little sound, should I say. The rest of my gear is working fine off my 5 channel HT amp.
Am I using the wrong connectors? Do I need an XLR to RCA adaptor or cable?
Is the connector I am using wrong for this app?

I am using 1/4" plugs into the top two jacks shown in area 7 on page 6 of the Samson manual linked above.

You're using the Input on the channel 1 with the switch 6 set to BRIDGED ?

isn't the svs cs 4 ohms?

if so, shouldn't you just use one channel to be 4 ohm stable?

I was just using one channel. The amp manual was very clear that the bridged mode was only for 8 ohm speakers and that a 4 ohm load would cause severe failure.........still, the connection type is what I am wondering about. I tried driving my fronts with the amp and got almost no sound unless I turned the preamp volume to +10.

then the fault is with the amp. perhaps it is defective? or it's input thingy requires a lot of signal.

Ok, here are some basic questions we should have asked first

The amp IS ON?
The fuse IS good?
The wall socket IS powered?

These sounds dumb, but you'd be surprised what we can skip when we take them for granted!

I was manning a CAD Helpdesk a few years ago. I get THE call from a guy trying to remotely acces a server. After 10 minutes of trying to solve the issue, the guy asked if the power outage in the server room might have anything to do with the problem? Wtf...

Smiles. No offense taken. All systems are go. I have a second amp that powers the system just fine. I am concerned the adaptors I am using to hook the RCA cables to the Pro amp hookups are not the correct ones. (1/4" male to RCA female) Do I need an XLR to RCA adaptor is the question I am asking, I guess.
I will check the fuse..........

is the 1/4" male you are using MONO? it should be MONO ... two contacts, tip and body. (one black line instead of two)

i hate adaptors, so I built this ...
