For a good 6:1 or 7:1 surround sound AV receiver. With my budget of around $450.00 i know i'm going to have to buy a used one that is a year or two old. My question is which one('s) should i be looking for? We watch alot of movies and that will be the primary thing i will be doing with it but i also watch alot of sports on TV. I'm looking for something that has HDMI for upgrading later on down the road. I'm not a Audioholic like alot of you, i'm mostly into restoring older cars but i love my movies as well.
I would really like some input so i'm not wasting what little money i do have. I have some good athena model speakers and i'm bidding on a very nice dvd player now that will upgrade the one i have.

Thanks in advance..
Dave

I would reccomend a Denon AVR 1907 or 1908 in that price range.

Yamaha RX-V661 or wait for the RX-V663 which looks like it will be the AVR to beat in this price range.

I agree with waiting for the RX-V663 also. I think that for the price and features it will be hard to beat. Although MSRP is $549.95, you will probably be able to find it cheaper online.

You can get a brand new Onkyo TX-SR605 for $399 at circuit city to ensure when you upgrade to Blu-Ray you have support for DTS-HD and Dolby Digital True HD. You also may want to let us know what kind of equipment you're using with this receiver.
