I lost all respect for mass market stereo equipment when they all started looking like cheap plastic vcr's,its bout time somebody reissued some good looking 2 channel gear.

I like it alot, reminds me of a yamaha system i had when i was young.

crap. SRP over here is 2755 USD (40PHP:1USD) for the integrated. and 2175 for the CD player.

and I was thinking, this was buy-able if it were around 600 bucks :)

LOL, you didn't really think it would be that low did you?:D

The pictures show the insane amount of detail that goes into this equipment, I actually expected it might cost more than that. The CD player weighs 30 pounds.

When i was a kid ALL stereo equipment had that much attention paid to the details & no plastic anywhere.

Old gear with that attention to internal detail is quite rare. There aren't many, if any at all, old receivers that have the heft and design of that Yamaha. Granted, much has changed over the years, it's still impressive on the inside. I have had my share of vintage gear to know they have great build quality and detail. It is also quite evident of the quality when some Marantz and Pioneer vintage receivers sell for mega bucks (more than the suggested retail) on eBay and other on-line places.:D

Those are gorgeous pieces. I'm a sucker for gear built like that, I have a 1977 Yamaha CR-820 receiver in my upstairs system that is a splendid piece, and it's built like a tank. These units remind me of it. I'd be willing to bet that that amplifier would give similar service life that their classic components did (and continue to do.)
