LOL - that's a fine looking dog you've got there. I'm sure he would be great pals with my Golden, who also - has found himself a little more than upset at times at some of the unearthly sounds coming out of that sub of mine. :D

He has gotten in the habit of lowering his head, cautiously, every time he steps by it on his way to look out the front window. :D

With your SVS Sub, put "The Polar Express" on your list. I watched it last night in Blu-Ray = Oh my.

The first time the train pulled up.... my dog came running into the living room, he was not happy with the situation
Poor Guy. My dog does the same thing.

Nice system!

I've been working my way to buying the same system now for months. I want to get the SCS for LCR & SBS for surrounds with the 10" sub. How would you describe the sound? Besides awesome, of course...:)

Awesome pretty much sums it up for me. :D

Nice :)
And it looks like your dog approves too....:)
Thanks Haraldo - yeah, the dog finally got over his fear of the big mean-looking sub sitting there on the floor (whew). He especially freaked whenever I had the cover off! :D

That's a terrific start, Halon! It looks like a place where I'd want to watch, listen, and perhaps share an adult beverage. Good work! (But aren't vaulted ceilings the nuts when trying to flatten the FR?!)

As a seasoned WAF (WAS) fighter, let me recommend that with regard to the possible upgrade to the SCS, pull a Nike and Just Do It. Then learn to steel yourself against THE LOOK . What could go wrong?! You'll of course lose domestic priveleges for awhile. But in the end, she'll come around.

:D

Doesn't really show on the pictures, but have you done anything in the area of room tuning, killing standing waves, or likewise?

Hmmmm... he got a kick out of the latest Radiohead album, but mostly because there are some weird-o noises and sounds in some of their songs. :) My local cable station does a weekly 'Emergency Test' thing where they blare this buzzer sound loudly on whatever channel is on - whenever it happens (usually morning as we're getting ready for work and have the news on), he goes literally apes**t, until the test is over. :D It's freaking hilarious, but poor guy... :p

Sheesh... you ain't just whistling dixie my friend. :) I hate those ceilings.

It's not the look I'm worried about, it's the frying pan. Eh, I'm pretty happy with my SVS combo for now, I'll get around to upgrading in the future I'm sure, but the TV is the next thing to worry about. ;)

Well, that conversation lasted all of 20 seconds with the wife. "You want to hang what... where??" and "What's a bass trap and why the hell do we need it cluttering up the living room?"

To be honest, even with the vaulted ceiling, the open dining room and kitchen area (off to the right hand side facing forward), and tons of reflective surfaces, the sound is not too shabby. I chalk it up to SVS quality, knowing that yes - it could be better, but like the marriage itself, a compromise will have to do for now. ;)

Trust me, I scored a big victory in this war the minute she allowed me to bring that sub into the house! Beyond that, everything's a bonus. :D

On acoustics treatment.... Been there, done that
Got any good tips on how to get 2 or four subwoofers (Like twin 15" AV123 MFW-15) or a couple of large SVS subs past the wife

A while back.... Suddenly my wife states something that bass traps could be fine, but not in all 4 corners of the room  now she's forgotten all about that, but I'm sure it will work out :p

After hearing Leftfied / Leftism on a state of the art Burmester rig with Audio Physic Avanti III and twin Audio Physic Minos sub's (that makes for 4 12" active drivers) my life has not been the same.

The bass was like getting a carate-kick straight in the chest, no sloppy flabby bass, just incredibly well sounding and no overhang. Just a kick.... and then dead silence and then all h... broke lose and absolutely totally full control on all parts of the music :D

I want that kind of bass, and so does my wife, she just doesn't know yet... She loves Queen and Bowie, think about listening to Scary Monsters on such a rig :D

Cheers

If she is anything like my wife, I would suggest dosing her with a good tranquilizer first... :p:D
