Yamaha Receiver Choice and Good Reliable Online Dealers

Hello everyone!

Looking to purchase a new Yamaha receiver, the RX-V659 or RX-V661. Looked around on Ebay, saw mostly b-stock units for fairly cheap. Any recommendations on reliable online retailers who's prices are competitive? Recommendations on the receivers? This site also recommended the Pioneer VSX-817 for an entry level system. Trying to stay under $300.00 if possible.

The yamaha RX-V series is not an online retailer receiver. The only place I know that can carry them is the audioholics store. For online you have to look into the HTR models. The equivalent to the RX-V661 is the HTR-6060. But I doubt you will still find one at <$300.

Just ordered a HTR-6060 from the dot com named after the big river... Might want to check it out...

You can get the 659 for approx. $300 online but not the 661. The 659 is more powerful but the 661 has the latest features.

I just purchased a Yamaha 659 (discontinued model) from Pricegrabber's Total Electronics store for $299 plus $30 shipping. I place the order on Super Bowl Sunday and it arived the following Wednesday. Everything was in order!
Very pleased.
