Answered in your first post. There is no need in posting in multiple sections.

10 Hz?

If you get those to hit 10 Hz you don't need any sub...ever!

Magnetic shielding is generally only required if you place the speaker near a set.

If you can hit 10 Hz, set the mains to large. Otherwise set to small, and the sub receives the low signal.

Btw, what sub? (all is moot if they are of the same quality as the 201's).

:confused::rolleyes:I doubt that, but...

Either way, you should set those to small, and let your subwoofer do the rest of the work below...

my sub isnt great, its just a yamaha 6.5 inch woofer....

so should i let my sub do all the work or have it set to both sub and fronts?

120,000 Khz??

Dude, you've been all over the board asking the same kinds of questions. I think we're sincerely trying to help, but at this point I'm a little confounded. I thought we clearly covered the LFE setting in another thread.

There is no way in hell those Bose speakers have that kind of frequency response with any considerable output, first of all, but if you truly need some help do the following:

1.) List all equipment you currently have (make/model #)
2.) Utilize proper forum structure (i.e., if you have a question about speakers, put it in the speakers section, etc.)
3.) Let us know what your current settings are (receiver/sub)
4.) Detail the position of your speakers - layout of the room, size, etc. (a drawing really helps here, if it's possible)
5.) If you are needing new equipment (speakers, sub, etc.) and approximate budget.
6.) Read the forum articles under the beginners section (as previously suggested). There is a wealth of information there that can help you.

That's all I can think of right now - best of luck. We'll be here when you get it together. :D

I looked at a bunch of different places for the specs on his speakers and I could either find none, or the same ridiculous stats that the OP listed. There is no way those POS little speakers reproduce that kind of frequency range.

Either way, the woofers in your speakers and your woofer are the same size, at 6 1/2 inch. Still, use your sub, you wouldn't want the woofer in the bose reproducing those powerful 10hz freqs while you listen to Christina aguilera reproducing those magnificently high 120,000Khz highs. pfftt.

I've never seen frequency response ratings for any Bose speakers, next to third party, my friend had an entire set up (some of the older 801's and 701's sound pretty good) and there wasn't even anything packed with them.
As for the settings, use the sub and set the front's to small.

halon said it best, read. Read the manuals that came with your equipment(leave them in the bathroom if needed:D) Then when you have a question, read some more, then if you cant resovle your question, ask, but when asking be as descriptive as possible and include ALL information necessary to your question. Oh did i say read?

I used the Bose 201s for short time, they are very small and can't really fill a room with sound. They don't go high enough and they have a low power handling.
