Denon 3808CI minor question

I have recently purchased and set-up the Denon 3808CI. Overall I found it reasonably straight forward to set it up. I was upgrading from a Yamaha RXV2400. (Nothing overly wrong with the Yamaha, but wanted a change. I particularly like the ability to adjust the speaker set-up based on inputs - music v DVD).
My issue is that when fastforwarding, reversing my VCR the image blacks out and then resets. It's as though it re-acquires the signal each time. It did not do this previously with the Yamaha. I am wondering if this is just the nature of the Denon or I have missed a tweak in the set-up. Has anyone else experienced this annoyance?

I have noticed this as well. I am using the amp for a complete HDMI switcher so it changes the HD Cable box and the Blu-ray player. I notice when I go from the Cable to Blu-ray it takes a minute to aquire the signal or something. Hell my old yammy switches faster with old yellow cord video connections haha. Maybe we both missed something?

which video output are you using, have you tried it on another video output?

Hi, I am using the Monitor OUT connection - the standard video cable (ie not the s-video, HDMI or component OUT connections). I also tried using the component out connections ( cables I usually have connected from the DVD player directly to the TV), and noticed the acquisition speed was worse, in fact it wasn't showing the video at all while fast forwarding the VCR. It would display the image in Play mode, so I know the connection worked. At least via the Monitor out via the standard video cable there was a display of the fastforwarded image with a couple of seconds delay in acquiring the signal. I could try (with the purchase of a new cable) a HDMI out to DVI in connection, however my experience with the component connection makes me wonder if that would just be a waste of money.
