rap is bad...Look what its done to these people. I mean seriously... I dont even think mental patients would do this. The whole rap culture is probably the most absolutely retarted thing I have ever seen in my life. For the life of me I cannot think of something stupider.

HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

Snoop Dogg video: some big black guys doin' benchpress on the front lawn in the ghetto! HAHA!

Those are all good songs by the way. I don't like rap/hip-hop much but there are a couple here and there that I like. Especially the classics as stated above. Forgot Still D.R.E. though.

And for the story, if it wasn't on a news site, I would think it's a joke. Even though mr. Paul can give me headaches too! lol

Rap causes seizures? Go figure! All this time we thought they were just criminals, can't blame them now! They're sick and worthy of our compassion. And you know how a sick person is not responsible for his actions, we should blame The Man, he's responsible, not homie.

What is amazing is Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog haven't gotten into half the trouble that Britney Spears has gotten herself into. Amazing

It must have something to do with the particular combination of frequencies. I remember a similar story not too long ago where a woman said that Mary Hart's (talk show host) voice gave her seizures.

OK, so you pick about the stupides rap song EVER written for your argument. Not too difficult to make rap look lame with that one. Sorry, but rap doesn't suck. I'm not the hugest rap fan, but I do like quite a bit of it. True, most of the rap that's currently out is crap, but you can't mess with Public Enemy, Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One, etc. Those guys were actually saying something.

Now country music.......... THAT SUCKS!!!

Couldnt agree more, every time i see a rap video with the rap star acting all fake cool & hard, i think of this movie then laugh.

One of the best movies ever made, especially since it makes fun of the entire rap scene from start to finish.

Country sucks yes its true but that still dont change the fact that rap sucks worse.

Public Enemy, didnt Flava Flave wear a giant clock around his neck ? ,i guess that was so we could all know what time it was,Public Enemy time !.

Now thats cool

How that fool ever made one red cent is beyond me,he looks like a burnt match.

I was half tempted to ignore this obnoxious thread, but after a few moments of listening to some classic 2pac, I felt obligated to respond to this thread.

Frankly, you are all entitled to your opinions. I wouldn't force feed you all sorts of claims and reasons why rap is not crap. I realize this thread is made in a half-hearted jest, but it is still offensive to me, and many other rap enthusiasists out there.

At the end of the day, I really could care less what people think about rap. The vast majority of people I meet that dislike it have no real understanding of it, or the ability to distinguish good artists from mainstream crapola. If you are made happier by slinging sh*t at an entire genre based on ridiculous suppositions then by all means, continue your farce. All the back-slapping hardy laughs you share here with people who share your limited views on rap is tantamount to the childish behaviour exhibited by 10 year olds picking on another kid who doesn't dress, or conform to the same standards they hold.

In a sense, I found the humour in this thread. It wasn't the childish thread title, or the tenous link developed by one individuals unfortunate circumstances. It was the people who jumped on board and made it profoundly obvious how ignorant they can be.

Did I jump on board with an ignorant post? If your going to point a finger, I think you need to point it directly at who your talking about, and not make a general statement. Because your statement is just as ignorant.

I heard Flava Flave say that the clock was "The white man's time, running out"
It was said on his show; the name escapes me.

If a 'cracker' said that on tv, (about the black man's time) he'd be banished, never to be heard of again. Like Jimmy the Greek, and others.

Wrong side of the bed this morning mazersteven? ;)

I don't think his statement was directed at you. But you have now made it so. It's pretty obvious to me what he has talking about (if one reads the whole thread). And while I agree with you that specificity is good, there are far greater incomplete posts here that cause greater confusion. Lighten up...it's Championship Day! :)

what you said is true but I think you could search a little more and find some more humour in it. I mean... you gotta laugh at this guy benchpressing on the front lawn or the giant clock or the gold tooth or whatever else that looks ridiculous. we laugh at this general image. that and the fact that many of them have nothing to sing about except money, cars, h0es and bling.

Lil' John - Yeah
Lil' John - Damn
Jay-z - Money, cash, h0es
Shop Boyz - My car
etc...

that repetitive beat can be lame for some people too. easy to say that they don't have any imagination for repeating 8-10 notes over and over for 5 minutes.

All my respect goes to the true rappers that can find subjects and teach people good valors. Perseverence for instance.

YEAAAAAAH!..... WHAT?!..... OH-KAYYYY!

All this is true but you forgot the gang & street mentality thats glamorized in rap,the "true" rappers that everybody talks about rap about street violence, gang murders, killing cops,no love for cops here but to sing about killing them ?

Rap has no redeeming qualities.

Rap is like any other genre of music: A few good artists, a whole lot of bad ones.

Dr. Dre, Snoop, OutKast (I saw a SPIN article called "If the Beetles were playa's, they'd be OutKast"), Immortal Technique, 2pac, Mos Def, Biggie, Mobb Deep, A Tribe Called Quest, Raekwon, CunninLynguists, and other great rappers are out there, they are just dwarfed by the the mainstream crap of today - just like any other genre.

Some rappers glamorize it, but not all...

Immortal Technique - Dance with the Devil (note: very explicit, be warned)

...most the good ones don't. Even Snoop's "Deep Cover" wasn't really glamorizing anything.

Can you show me what any of the "classic" artists like 2 pac have or ever had to offer that is good,Tupac may very well have been one of the most violent savages of all the gangsta rappers & his life was offensive to the civilized world.

A short list of Tupac's personal life.

Born to a drug addict mother who was a well known member of the Black Panther party, mother in & out of jail for various things including inciting a race riot.

Father unknown.

Stepfather serving a 60 year sentance for felony murder & armored car robbery.

Would any white singer/actor be held in such high esteem if his mother was in the KKK & his father murdered a black security guard who was simply doing his job ?????

Highlights from 2 Pac's life, this is what Tupac had to offer the world when he wasnt rapping.

2 Pac shot 2 off duty cops, not that they didnt deserve it, its his mentality being shown.

2 pac convicted & sentanced for Sodomy & molestation.

2 Pac,along with his gang, the Leuder park Piru's, are involved in a shooting with the Crip's that leaves a 6 year old boy dead from a stray bullet,Tupac settled out of court.

2 Pac attacks rival gang member in public at MGM Grand casino.

2 Pac is shot 5 times while being robbed by rival gang members, survived only to continue gang life or "thug life" which was his philosophy of life.

2 Pac's arrest record.

Assault.
Drug possession.
Battery.
Resisting arrest.
Unlawful possession of a firearm.
Sodomy.
Assault.
Sexual battery.
Unlawful possession of a firearm.

But he was framed.!!

What i dont get is what any rap enthusiast identify's with in his music, unless you've been involved in gang life, lived in a ghetto & sold drugs or been to prison theres nothing there in the lyrics for the average listener except to glorify gang life.

How do you identify with this "classic"Tupac song.

Bury me a G.

Thinkin back
remeniscing on my teens
a young G
gettin paid over dope fiends
F---ing off cash that i make
Nigga, whats the sense in workin hard
if you never get to play
im hustlen
stayin out till dawn
and commin home
at 6 o-clock in tha mornin
hands on my glock
eye's on tha prize
finger on tha trigga when a nigga ride's
shootin craps
bustin niggas out tha door
pick my money off the floor
god bless that tre-four
stuck on full,drunk again
sippin on gin
with a couple of friends
sayin those thug life niggas be like major pimps
stickin to the rules what made it simp
and if i die

but when they come fo me
bury me a G.

I aint got time fo b!tc#es
Gotta keep my mind on my mothaf---ing riches
even when i die

no more loves
for me hard to figure
get a nigga,smoke a blunt
OR as a jury starts (break that s#!t)
I gives a f--- nigga
stuck outta luck
when i bust
pull me to my death
But im a G to the enemy

I got nothin to loose so i chose to be a killer
went from bangin to slangin
now im a dope dealer
all my life payed the cost to be tha boss
back in school
wrote the rules on gettin tossed
poppin rocks on the block was my pass time
pack a 9 all the time
you wanna test mine ?
dont cry
ill die before they play me
from the cradel to the grave
Bury me a G

Straight thug G
kickin it with the homies in tha hood
gettin drunk & smokin blunts
a b!tc# said i was no good
i gives a f---
i spend my time in tha dope spot
never had no time fo no b!tc#
instead slangin rocks
and bustin caps on you punk a$$ marks
fake a$$ G's

im stayin real till im 6ft deep
so when this nigga gone
Bury me a G

Stuck on full

Gotta keep my mind on my mothaf---in riches
even when i die
they wont worry me
mama dont cry
Bury me a G.
