Chris Rea announces European Tour!

After much inquiry about a new cd, Chris Rea has announced a full-blown European Tour kickin off at the end of this month.

For some reason he never had a huge fan base here in the US as he did in Europe. It would be nice if he toured here as well.

Yes that would be nice, I hope he does make it down here. Pat Metheny is coming to Boca, next month I believe

Hmmm, I thought Chris Rea was slowing down. Maybe not, eh? This is good news.

He's had some well publicized, serious health issues (for the past 15 years). I think this is the best he's felt in that 15 years, so the buzz is, rather than just give 'em a cd, let's give 'em a cd and a tour! Yes, it is good news.

That name sounds vaguely familiar. Is there a song of his I might have heard?

Well, he's been around since 1976.

Some of his biggest hits include Road to Hell, I Can Hear Your Heartbeat, Auberge, Josephine and his first hit: Fool (If You Think it's Over).

Oh, OK. I have heard "I Can Hear Your Heartbeat" and "Fool". Pretty good.

Of the 8 or so cds I have of his I think "Road to Hell" and his self titled cd are my two favorites, though they all have their moments.

He also pops up occasionally as a guest guitarist on various releases. One in particular, the relatively unknown self titled cd by The Law, (Paul Rodgers of Bad Company and Kenny Jones of The Who), Rea appears with PF's David Gilmour on the song 'Stone.' I believe Rea wrote the song. Not a bad cd actually.
