Help BIC Venturi or Acoustech

I have tried all kinds of ways to make the Acoustech line sound better then Venturi, but i have failed...I need some ideas on what type of media that can convince me ht 75, ht 65, ht 63 are worth the $300+ more over Venturi dv-62si, dv-62clr, dv-64...

So do you have both the Acoustech and Venturi? What is it that makes the Acoustech less desireable? Is it too bright and forward?

I too was once interested in these two set of speakers. Would love to hear your thoughts on what you dislike about it.

Yes I have both....
Yes I think they do sound bright and forward...if that is what it's called...

Venturi line is well money spent....

Is there some type of demo cd that can put speakers through their paces for evaluation purposes????

You stated you once was interested in these speakers? So what did you end up buying...??

Have you try calibration or lower the treble option to see if it makes any difference? I hope that there is a return policy...If not, I am sure there are people out there willing to buy from you. Based on many reviews, most owners love their BICs.

I was told to compare the BIC Acoustech to Klipsch, which I did. Found the high a little too high for my tastes. It was way too bright for my taste. I got worried and decided against it based on the Klipsch. I end up going with AV123 Rockets 850s and 450s. Aperions and Swans was a tie as my second choice and the BICs was my 3rd choice.

I have the Yamaha rx-v2700 receiver...and have the base and treble at 0db or flat...

WoW Rocket 850's they look great, but way over the fun money I have to spend...

For movies I enjoy the horn tweeter but with some music it is a bit harsh at times. My biggest complaint with the HT-75 is the lack of mids. For a floorstander I expected more.

I hope to do a comparison soon between the HT-75 and the X-SLS I now have since they are close in price.

It's my 2nd floor TV room thats part of the Master Bedroom. It has the real hardwood floors..I have an area rug that is close to the size of the room..The room is kinda of small at 12x14...Any thing I throw at either line of speakers sound great...Is spending a couple of grand per speaker a status thing or am I really missing something

Check out the Klipsch Synergy line at the local big box store, they are similar to the Bic Acoustechs. If you like the horn-loaded tweeter sound, then get the acoustic line. If not, get the venturi speaker or maybe the Athena Audition series in your price range.

The main advantage of horn-loaded tweeters on speakers like Klipsch and Acoustic is they high efficiency which allows them to play louder with less power. Most people prefer this type of speaker for movies instead of music.

I went to check on the X-SLS and I see they are SOLD OUT!
This speaker is being replaced by a new version - ENCORE.

I have both sets...either line is excellent, either work very well listenning to music or movies... I am also pushing them with 140 watts per channel....I can not even get to 0 db before my house feels it is going to explode....

Have you try the DV84s? Man, at one point, my mind was really torn between the Acoustech and the Venturi and between the DV64s and DV84s before I went ahead with the Rockets. But I still felt that based on the reviews, I would of love the BICs especially in their price range. Some say that the BICs somewhat distorts at high volumes, do you find that true? I read a lot of reviews but have never actually read a review from one owner who owns both of them.

Any way, so in your opinion, the Venturi out performs the Acoustech? In what way? How are the two different? My brother is looking for HT and he doesn't have the budget for Rockets. I might swing him towards the BICs, especially the Venturi. How's the Venturi do as far as HT goes? I always thought that Venturi might be better at music but was worried that it might compromise when it comes to movies when compared to Acoustech. What's your thoughts? If you have the time, a mini review between them would be great.
