I'm hopeing you guys will help me chose right tv set.
I wll be using it for gaming PS3,BR and some SD.
my options:
1. th50pz700u 1900$ on line

2. th42pz700u 1400$ on line

3, 56LCZ70 1350$ on line.

if i decide on 2. or 3. i could spend leftover 500$ on some HT system.

What would you do in my place?

Are these 720p type TVs? How far away will you sit from it?

From reading the model numbers one could easily infer that the 50" and the 42" are Panasonic sets, but what about the 56"? I don't think we should all have to search to figure out which make these are.

For the record, they are all Panasonic sets. The first two are Plasma sets, and the last one is Panasonic's LIFI projection set. They aren't even comparable IMO. There is a reason that Projection sets cost less, they are bulkier and have worse viewing angles than Plasmas, and more than likely worse contrast ratios. I would get the 50" Plasma set.

1. and 2. are plasmas. 3 is not.

Get #3 and save up some more for a nice 5.1 HT system. Save around $2000 so you can get a very nice one.

Actually, what you should really do is compare them if you can. Many people don't like projection TVs and prefer the picture of a plasma or LCD display over them, also the size factor (space taken up).

You will have to compare the Projection set to the Plasmas to make a good decision.
