HK actually underestimates their receivers when it comes to power ratings when compared to the competition (Yamaha, Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer, Sony). But it all depends on how loud you are going to drive them, size of room, etc. But a 90dB speaker is pretty efficient so I don't see a problem. How big is your room?

As long as you don't drive the receivers amp into clipping, you will be fine. Listen to the speakers and if they start to get harsh or show other signs of stress, turn the volume down. The wattage rating on the speakers is virtually meaningless as long as the amp is within it's rated range.

Thanks for the responses. The room is 12Wx18Lx8H and the listining style would be moderate but may be pushed to atleast twelve o'clock on the dial at times when it's early in the day. Listening levels where I am at the music cannot be to loud. By the way the speakers are some polk audio R50's don't know if that helps and I will be using a powered subwoofer so that the H/k will not strain itself producing the lower frequencies.
Appreciate the help
