loud transformer hum

My brand new JBL L8400P is making a rather annoying hum (like a transformer)when the sub is both off and on. I removed the COAX and tried it in multiple outlets and get the same noise. Should I worry. Everything else seems fine.

What do you mean the sub is off and still hums? What is off, the switch or just no signal to the sub?
Is this noise coming from the speaker itself or the amp in the back and can you pinpoint it to the amp?

While this will not harm the amp, it is annoying. Call JBL and ask for a replacement as it should not be humming.
