Hi

Looking for some assistance in setting up my Yamaha HTR6060 receiver that I just bought at FutureShop boxing day sale (the 6090 were gone).

I have a Sony LCD TV (1080p), a Scientic Atlanta 8300HD PVR, a PS3 and an old Sony DVD player. The TV, PS3 and the PVR are hooked up with HDMI cables, all work well.

The DVD player is hooked up with component video cable and RCA audio cable. Problem is with the video but the audio is coming through fine. The Manual Setup is all greek to me, if somebody here has any suggestions, I wil be really grateful.
Thanks,
Aroop

Usually, you have to assign the component input to a source then enable video transcoding to HDMI output in another part of the menu.

The 6060 does not up-convert (transcode) to HDMI. (pg. 17) I suggest you simply run the component connection directly to the TV.

Yes, that's what I have done, hooked it wo the TV with component cables which works. However, I was hoping I could just use the single HDMI connection to the TV from the receiver.

Thanks

You can't. You want to do that, get the HK 247 or Yamaha 6080.

Oh well, it's not a big deal. I wanted the 6090 but it was sold out, anyways the 6060 was way cheaper.
thanks
