okay, i'm looking for a sub as kindof a christmas present to myself, hopefully in the $350-400 ish range, i don't care at all about waf, (because this is MY present) i was looking at the klipsch sub-12 at best buy, which is on sale for $375 online, but i had remembered there was a big svs sale, and i didn't know if there was anything else like that going on... opinions/suggestions? Thanks!

those look pretty promising, two questions. it says for the price, regular price:$350 now, is there a discount available? second, it says that "avg spl 113.91 Db" what does that actually mean, as compared to the BIC says it has a sensitivity of 90Db and a 275 watt continuous/600 peak amp, so in the end, how does one do the math on wether two of the bics would be equal or lesser than the single ED unit?

Subwoofer options

Check out the entry level 10" and 12" models from SVS and HSU in your budget. Both have b-stock deals regularly. Both will have better performance and play lower and cleaner than the BIC or the Klipsch. I would also recommend 1 good sub vs. 2 cheap subs in your budget.

The HSU STF-2 is $349 brand new if I'm not mistaken. An SVS might be out of your budget unless you look at b-stock like jcPanny has suggested.

HSU STF-2 is a good sub, owned it once, and I plan to own it again. Nothing other than the M&K that I have that used to work, has been able to compete with it.

Avoid budget subwoofers from Klipsch, they aren't so hot.;)

...i did a bad bad thing... reprimand me :( i got the pair of 350 watt rms 15" BICs, shipped, for $413... i know it might have been the childish decision, but i did get a pair of subwoofers for $3.82 a Lb :) ...and i heard a couple of good things about them, hopefully it pans out... i kinda ordered them bfore everyone recommended the baby svs and hsu's... though, maybe that will be a birthday present (march) to myself, if these bics arn't any good. Expect a critical review.
