I was left with a maximum size of 10 X 20 to work with, and after almost 2 years, and purchasing everything you see-on my own, IT"S FINISHED!! :D (Hell. I even bought the deck screws we used for the double layers of sheetrock to go up!)

A few more nice Movie posters, some Music Posters (John Mellencamp, Stevie Ray'. Clapton, etc..), a little rope light on the riser, and this lil' HT/Music Room will be TWEAKED OUT!

I hope you all like what I did, and PLEASE, any suggestions (Bass traps, panels, etc..), are welcome, and appreciated.
Going to go throw on some Clapton now , and then watch the Eagles, "Hell freezes over Concert" (Australia) in 7.1 . Take care all!

Looks cool.

What equipment are you running?

If you don't mind me asking... how much did you pay for the seats? When I build my HT room I'm gonna need an idea. Still not sure if I'd go with recliners like you have or couches.

In response to you. ERIN H.

First off, please take my advice, and go with the recliners, similar to the one's I have. You will not regret it at all. :D I really enjoy them, and I couldn't imagine watching a movie any other way, ever again! I paid $1411.00 delivered. (yes, you read right) I did endless searches on eBay, found deal after deal, on the same exact seats all over eBay too. Finally ended up at an online dealer called "Carolina interiors"-214-449-8981) and spoke to a great salesman there (Kyle McCabe.). I still can't figure out how in the world I ended up there, after being on Ebay at the time.(?) They were running a hell of a special when I bought my chairs(obviously), and they went way out of their way to make sure everything went smoothly for me.(Hey, I told them, if I ever got the chance, I would "Plug the hell out of there place"!) BTW, I think the name of my chairs are: "The Studio"
Good Luck!! Joe B.

Great looking space, good speaker placement, nice lighting details, warm color selection, looks extremely comfortable, and good storage solutions.

Hope you enjoy it for years to come!!!

Yeah, I would like to see an equipment list too!

Per your requests, My Gear. Hope you like it.

I am sorry that my Gear was never listed. I always thought it was included at the end of my posts, in my profile. I love the great detail that I get out of the Tannoy Sensys DC 2's that I have as my front Left and Right's. And, The Aperion Audio Sub (Intimus S-12) is not for the "weak at heart" or Ears either! I don't care what you've heard out there in reguard to other Subs (demos, or reviews) This Sub is just ridiculous. And that's only at halfway, with the "Buttkickers" turned off! I can hang with the Kings of all Subs, and still come out standing, and I can hang with the subtle one's, and appreciate them too, but this Aperion S-12 has really changed my way of thinking when it comes to Subwoofers. I'm just upset a bit, because I should have gotten the Black Laquer finish instead. Anyway, the list of my gear is below. Thanks for all the great compliments! You have all made me feel as if I can "Hang with the BIG BOYS now". Thank God, I'm only 43 now. LOL

Samsung- FP T6374 HDTV Plasma
Onkyo TX SR875 (140 Watts Per Channel X 7)
Yamaha C750 DVD/SACD/CD Changer
Audio Technica Direct Drive Turntable
ButtKicker BKA 10004A Amp.(1000 Watts)
Tannoy Sensys DC 2's-Front L&R
Tannoy Arena Highline 500C-Center
Tannoy Arena Sattelites-Surround-L&R
Tannoy Arena Highline 500 Sattelites-Rear L&R
Aperion Audio Intimus S-12 Subwoofer
ButtKicker Mini LFE's- 1 under each Chair(4).
Great Lakes- Wall Mounted Rack Enclosure, with enclosed thermal management.(dual fans)
Blue Jeans Cable- 20 Foot Subwoofer cable, and 1-- 50 Foot HDMI cable

Also, just received 2 great Christmas gifts yesterday too: Panasonic DMP-BD30 (Blu Ray Player) & Toshiba HD-A35 (HD Player). The whole family(s) chipped in. Guess they got tired of hearing my belly aching over the "NON release" issues on the Samsung dual format "Hi Def" player. Plus, I have put every nickel I've had into this room for the last 2 years. And, I never asked for any help with the costs. So the 2 Hi Def Players were everyome's contribution to my project. I am very fortunate and very happy! :D Besides, I can only occupy ONE of the chairs that I put in the room, at a time... Thanks all! Joe B. ;)

Yeah, no kidding! Right? :D I am getting real fat real fast too! That's okay though, because I don't think I'll get the craving for CAKE again for a few years. I might want to get different speakers or some other new addition somewhere down the road. ("The Never ending Journey") I LOVE THIS HOBBY!! Don't you? Did I mention, I've been single again now, for the last 12 years. No WAF!!:p Just kidding fellas, I've felt your pain... All the best Joe B.

Very nice room - is that a Middle Atlantic wall rack? It doesn't look like any of the models I'm familiar with from them, but it's a nice solution for your equipment. I might tidy up those dangling power cords though! :D

The "RACK" in my HT Room

The Rack that you see in my HT is manufactured by "Great Lakes", who just so happen to be "Middle Atlantics" Direct Competition. I really like Great Lakes Racks and Rack Enclosures quite a bit more than Middle Atlantic's these days. I find Great Lakes' Enclosures to be more flexible and versatile, and much more affordable. As for the wire management issues, My Buddy and I have set aside a day (Hopefully this weekend) just for organizing all of the wires, and possibly tending to the "Riser" Lights too. (If I'm Lucky). Does anyone out there think it would be a bad idea to move my sub from where it is to it's direct opposite spot just 10 feet to the left, and directly underneath my wall mounted rack enclosure? (The Back Right Corner of the room). This won't affect anything in a negative way, will it? I've included a Name and telephone number for a represenative at "Great Lakes", should ny one want to contact them. They do have an online web site too.
Happy New Year All! Joe B.

The big issue I had with MA racks was the fact that one would often have to get a little creative when it came time to lace cables and wires for a neat install. Plus the Great Lakes rack seems to offer a bit more depth than a Middle Atlantic rack of similar size. The company I worked for was a Middle Atlantic direct partner, so that's all we ever used, for either A/V or Broadcast installations. Well, once we had to use Winsted, and it was awful.

Either way though, that is a great setup, and I'm more than a little jealous. :D

No need to feel Jealous. Just get use to not DOING A THING, for 2 years, and you too can have a set up exactly like mine! Every nickel that wasn't promised to a creditor or my mechanic, went directly into my HT/Music Room Fund. A couple of friends, and even a few cousins, called me after not seeing or hearing from me for 6 or 7 months, just to make sure I hadn't went down for the big "Dirt Nap"!. I have clothes that were in style when I started, and then went out of style before the room was even completed! So, No Jealously allowed! LOL :D
The one thing that I must suggest when starting your Home Theater Room is this: Do not SETTLE! Whether it's the receiver that you chose to go with at the start, or the type of carpet you wanted to go with, do not cut any corners just to save a few bucks, or because you are getting impatient. YOU WILL REGRET IT! Remember, once it's done, IT'S DONE!! So stick to your original game plan, and savor the results. Take it easy all. Joe B.

BTW, Middle Atlantic Racks are quite shallow in depth, and GREAT LAKES Racks and Enclosures, really seem to be a more SOLID structure too.

Ah, it isn't only a financial restriction, it is an architectural one. :) Let me just say I will have a secret agenda when my wife and I begin looking for our next house - while she is looking at kitchen cabinets and bathrooms, I will be figuring out which room would be ideal for a dedicated HT. :D

Hardly any basements here in Florida too, so that option is out. ;)

Hidden Agenda for your HT room! Ha, now that's funny!

Well, I use to know your pain. No WAF issues since 1995 for me (fortunately). Only problem was, that I was down in Florida for a 4 year stint-due to serious health issues.(was on dialysis, and locality of treatment center was much better, and weather helped out tremendously too) Anyway, came back up north to NY (Orange County) after my transplant, and I was back in the land of BASEMENTS!!:D I had been scheming about my own HT room the whole time while down in Florida. I couldn't do much about it because I lived in a Condo complex, and I was on the 2nd floor. I did survive for about a year with a BOSE 3-2-1 system though. Well after being back in my home for 2 years now, where I am close to my family again, and re-united with MY beloved YANKEES!, I finally have the HT/Music room, that I could only dream about while down in Florida, and reading these tempting online pages of AUDIOHOLICS.com til' the wee hours every night.
Did I mention how much I LOVE THIS HOBBY?!!!!!!!:D

BTW, anyone know a place online, other than AllPosters.com, where I can pick up some decent FRAMED movie posters, without getting "Hit over the head" at checkout? Thanks in advance. Joe B.
