If I have the driver firing down is their a certain height I should have it off the floor for the best sound? Or is this a bad idea?

Keep it about four or five inches away from the floor.

Downfiring will be acceptable with this driver. The sag on the driver is only about 2% so it is within limits.

I too would suggest at least 4" of clearance in a sealed application.
