I came home today & checked my email, one was from audiogon management, the email was titled "Audiogon Fraud Alert"

I sent several offers to buy via COD ONLY for some hi end gear that i was pretty sure were scams, with COD its a no risk deal so i gave it a shot & made offers.

A member reported suspected fraud & the audiogon system automatically contacted every member who has communicated with the seller,Audiogon management permanently suspended the user account & IP address.

Way to go guys,Ebay could learn some valueable lessons from the Audiogon management.

I would think Ebay has multiple scams out there for every one scam on Audiogon.

I've received scam emails more than once from Ebay users and Ebay's approach is not that proactive.

I was involved in a transcation selling to a scammer and was left negative feedback. I had to pay a small $25 litigation fee to have the negative feedback removed to maintain my 100% positive feedback, not to mention it was totally false. You would have thought the feedback would have been resolved without a fee since the user was soon closed by Ebay police.

I am only a browser on Audiogon's site but am fairly active in Ebay buying and selling. I would appreciate a better system that proactively alerts to scams relative to my activity on Ebay.
