Where does VGA fall in the quality order

I am planning on connecting my macbook to my Samsung LCD TV. Now the macbook uses mini-DVI video interface. That means I have to buy from apple a mini-DVI to VGA adapter or a mini-DVI to S-video adapter.

I know S-video falls between composite and component cables in the quality game, but where does VGA fall into? Which of the two adapters should I get?

VGA would be about equivalent to component video.

In short, get the VGA.
Granted you do know that you can get that connection to HDMI, if needed.
Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter, DVI to HDMI.


As far as display capabilities of VGA, it falls in between component and DVI.

I thought about that, but my LCD is 720P, so I would think there would not be a difference in quality if VGA can deal with 720p, right?
