Poping noise in speakers

This is driving me CRAZY !!! Heres the beef : When ever I turn my preamp off I get a popping noise coming from the speakers. Then when a light switch from another room is turned on or off ( don't know if its on the same circuit ) I get the popping noise. I have all my components plugged into a Monster Power Center ( model HTS 1000 MKII ) and the noise still bleeds through. Anybody knows whats causing this and what can be done ? Thanks !

Old stuff does that, they don't have relays to disconnect the speakers from the power, when the capacitors drain it will pop. The power conditioner can do nothing to change it, it is just how the stuff was made.:)
