I (and many others here) would love to help you out, but before I can recommend anything I have some questions:

1. Esthetic concerns? Meaning: any issues with spacing, placement (on stand, on-wall, floor, or in-wall/in-ceiling, colors or materials, decore' concerns, those sorts of things. I need details to build you a system!

2. $1500 - $2000 without a sub? Do you already have a sub & is it worthy of $2K worth of speakers?

3. What type of & how big of a TV do you have? Where is it: On wall, on stand, etc?

4. What are you going to power these new speakers with?

5. How big is your room?

6 Any other details you can give us? You can get a nice system for $2K these days so lets do it right the first time and consider all of the variables that might come into play with the physical TYPE of speaker you can use to fit your room best.

Let us know!

Im fine with tower speaker i just want the best sounding speaker looks are not the most important. I have a72 Dlp TV right now and plan on getting a progector in the near future. I have on order an onkyo sr805.The room size is 14x20 I planed on getting a sub from hsu becasue i have a budget for it . My big problem is where i live there is no where to listen to anything. We dont even have a BB or CC within 100 miles.

Thank you for the quick responses & info that we'll need to start making some suggestions. I will respond with something (in detail) in the next day or two and I'm sure others will have their own opinions as well. I'm excited to see what we can all come up with.

Thanks for being patient

With approx. 200 speaker manufacturers out there shooting at your price range, which is the biggest demographic, you will have endless options, and about half of them are worth the money, so you are looking at around 50 options.

What area do you live??? I would recommend Monitor Audio RS6, Silver Center, and SFX surround. But, again you have a ton of possibilities.

Good luck!!!

My Pick: Definitive Technology BP10B 42" towers for $900/pr (free shipping digitalcraze.com).

Specs (Julian Hirsch @ Stereo Review Lab): On-Axis 20 Hz - 20 kHz +/-6dB & 25 Hz - 20 kHz +/-3dB @ 90dB w/m.

Subwoofer: also check out the $1,600 Epik Conquest - 12.5 Hz @ 104dB, < 4% distortion, 2 meters, 7,500 c.f. room (Tom Nousaine Lab Test).

Total Cost L+R Speakers + Sub: $900 + $ 1,600 = $2,500.

Enjoy them!!! But, I think you went overboard taking in consideration that your initial budget was $1500 to $2000, and you didn't get a center nor surrounds; essential for 95% HT use.

Maybe you compromised and will buy those later, as you harvest more money from your backyard.
