Dear Chris,

Is there something I can do to reduce the resonances?
Do you have any advise, such as extra wool in the cabinet?
Please be informed that they now sounds good enough to me here.
But it can always better.

Kind regards, Marcus The Netherlands
Unfortunately, since they are now assembled, there is not much that can be practically done. I do see that you appear to be a master woodworker; that is some superb craftsmanship that you have demonstrated. I applaud the use of solid woods over veneers; that is more difficult. However, as a result, the hardwood is likely better than MDF; as the increased stiffness of the hardwood should reduce the overall amplitude of panel resonances to some small degree. It was not clear if you applied a mass-loaded damping sheet material to all interiors. If you did not, then I recommend 1/3" thick(applied in layers, of course) to reduce ringing duration appreciably. In addition, I doubt that the acoustic foam you used is ideal. There for, adding a significant amount of wool would probably be beneficial. An ideal alternative is to find 2" thick high density fiberglass(Owens Corning 705) or 8# high density mineral fiber board, and place this on all walls in place the of the foam for far better internal standing wave reduction. One thing left in addition to these that can be done to reduce resonances further, is to create effective vibration de-coupling devices to mount the drivers on instead of directly to the cabinet. A significant amount of energy is transmitted directly to the cabinet from the driver frames. However, an effective suspension is not easy to accomplish.

Thanks Chris, for your information!

I've another question.

I want to reduce the mid a little bit.
In the cabinet is no wool.
Can I reduce the mid with use of wool in the bottom of the cabinet and behind the drivers?

Indicated on the drawing:

I love your CRX! Is that an SiR? B16A powered?

Great craftsman ship on that cabinet too.

Hi SheepStar :).

Thanks!

The CRX is a standard 1.6I - 16V (1991) with 330.000 km (205052.5 miles) on it :).
He still drives great!

Greetings, Hondasnl

The wool will not reduce amplitude of the midranges uness you have a severe standing wave issue. Your Odin should be designed to be very linear/flat(this is Joseph D'Appolito's stanard design trend). If you want to customize the frequency balance, you should use a high precision, high quality DSP equalizer such a Behringer DEQ2496, or even better, a Behringer DCX2496 -- the DCX is better because it also has advanced crossover abilities as well as EQs. You can later integrate stereo subs with perfection using a DCX if so desired.
