Speaker stands: OEM or Universal?

I'm looking into the Aperion 422 Intimus LR and need a speaker stand.

I'm wondering if I should order the stands from them or if I can get "universal" ones that might be a little more aesthetically pleasing and would support another model speaker if I decide to upgrade to Aperion's 532 series bookshelf set.

Are there any certain kinds that you guys have experience with? This will be a christmas present idea for my folks so a link would be helpful.

Aperion 422 = $200/pr
Cheap stands = $30
Better stands = $50-$100
Total = $230-$300

AV123 38" towers for $240/pr & no need for any kind of stands:

^ Why do you torture me?

The reason I'm going with aperion's is that they're a gift. My folks are looking for something around $200. I don't want to seem greedy and ask them to buy me the towers.

In addition, I can upgrade with the Aperions when I get more money (taxes come back).

The $240 set say "(new orders)". Is that implying that they're not in stock?

That kind of sucks. We're (my family) is celebrating the 15th...my mom might not want to take that risk and she's adamant about me having something to "open".

I'll call av123 tomorrow and see what they say.

...I mean the Aperions are GREAT.:D

I think the $47 Aperion speaker stands look pretty good.
