Fuse Problem for JVC Amplifier

I have a JVC D201S 7.1 channel receiver/amplifier that has a blown internal fuse. The fuse is a standard glass fuse with metal on each ends and is a 125 Volt 6.3 Amp fuse marked 51MS on the top. I can't find one of these anywhere. I live up in the mountains of New Hampshire and there just aren't any stores around that carry such things other than an Electronics Store that used to be a Radio Shack. They don't carry it either. I've tried to do searches on the internet and haven't been successful. Does anyone have any idea where I can find a replacement?

This one is a bit of a pickle so far. If the fuse really is a 125 VAC 6.3 amp fuse, wow.
I would actually like for you to put everything that is in writing on the fuse on here, just to make sure. Put it as you see it, not as you think it is

It's a 51MS 063 L Medium Slow blow type fuse. Important, that it's slow-blow because amplifiers do have a tendancy to peak at max current for a very short period of time (if you listen to audio loud). A fast acting fuse would blow as soon as the limit was reached.

However, the only one I am able to find remotely close to it is this:

It's under their catalog as 7015.6380... but it's a fast acting fuse as well as being a D8M mount as well I believe.

I think that might be an exact replacement, come to look at the specs of the Pico PDF and what not. It's 5x20, same size, 6.3 amps @ 125 VAC, same rating, and it's slow blow. I'd pick up a set of 5 and compare it to the old fuses.

BTW, if it keeps blowing and blowing, the amplifier has a problem.

Have you contacted JVC parts department and ask what type of fuse this is and how much is their cost for it?

By the way, do you have any idea why it blew? Perhaps the next one will go too unless there is a good reason. In any way, buy more than one

Well, it would be more expensive probably. But definetly guaranteed to get the correct one.

I still think that the GMC-6.3A 6.3 Amp 125V Fuse will work, but I'd look at the old fuse against the new fuse before installing.

At least with JVC, you'll get the right one.

The phone call is FREE The info may help make a choice as to type of fuse, slow blow, medium slow blow.
Would the slow blow work if it calls for a medium slow blow? All free to find out Then, an educated choice can be made which way one is to go.

My ]brother and I have the same problem my brother has a Denon reciver:, his girl friend turned it up full blast and blew the 125 volt 6.3 amp fuse

OMG, Kenwood uses 6.3 amp fuses! One big happy family.

Yettitheman, you got those TPS reports finised yet? (by TPS reports I mean 5 page paper.)
