Pairing A Center From One Manufacturer With Bookshelves From Another

Would it be ok to use an htd level 3 center channel speaker with some onix x-ls Bookshelf Loudspeakers

how would it sound
should i just get the x-cs to pair with the x-ls
or other suggestions

yes, you should get the matching center. it's not gonna sound horrible if you use another brand for the center, but it WILL NOT match especially for sound effects that pan from left to right.

I agree with Mike C.. Even different speaker lines from the same manufacturer don't sound right together. It only took me 2 years to figure it out. You're way ahead of the game. Only 2 days.:)

i know as a rule they should match but would some who isn't an audiophile notice
for instance if you were to put the level 3 in an x-cs enclosure and asks an audio noob to try and find a defect
would they succeed

in retrospect being a douche did get someone to help but i am sorry for being rude i had posted the night before and really wanted to know the answer to my question which is not an excuse or justification and i sincerely apologize

you posted while i was writing that pretty much confirms what i had hoped wasn't true thanks

guess i'll get the x-cs with some x-ls bookshelves then there more in my price range anyway
