"The Dutch company's higher-than-high-end speakers top HigherFi's list of the world's most expensive speakers, and we're betting they have the sound to match the price."

I'll take that bet.

The people that buy speakers like Kharma's Grand Enigmas, or any over the top expensive luxury, do so, simply because they can.
The "Look at me" factor, out weighs all else.

The ironic thing though. Even a millionaire has the WAF to contend with.:D

No kidding, and those speakers are (IMO) not attractive at all and are huge for an in-home system - even for a huge home. For $1M, I'd expect a work of art. Well, a working piece of art, that is.

I bet they're secretly powered by Bose cube speakers!

If it's the same company, I hope they build to higher standards than their $32,500 model:

Those measurements are completely humbled by the B&W 802D, and it is about a third the price. Heck, those measurements are sad compared to a LOT of less expensive speakers.
Those specs are humbled by some $1K/pc speakers. Well, close to it any way. I'd expect better from a set of speakers that cost as much as a mid priced vehicle.

Weren't those speakers just a one-off, made at the request of a wealthy individual?

I'm quite fond of the Kharma sound, actually, having heard the CRM3.2 regularly. They're not for big rooms, of course, but the clarity is really impressive.
