I can't compare the two, but I have this thought: you can order the Aperion sub along with the speakers, and if you don't like it, ship it back on their dime. You've got nothing to lose by trying it out. If you're happy with it, it's a keeper. If not, then send it back.
Because the Aperion sub has no financial commitment, there really is no reason not to try it out - even if you also order the Hsu, because then you could try them out side by side.
