Help - HSU STF-2 or Aperion Intimus S-10

Group - Need your help in finalizing subwoofer.

My room size is 20 L x 12 B x 9 H and I am thinking of buying Aperion Bookshelf 532 LR and 533 VAC Centers speakers.
Now, I am torn between Aperion and HSU subwoofers. I have read great things about HSU and not much on Aperion.

Has anyone been able to listen to both, how would you rate them or if you had about $400 to spend on subwoofer, what would you buy?.

Any advise/thoughts/comments is highly appreciated. TIA.

First, welcome to the forum!

I can't compare the two, but I have this thought: you can order the Aperion sub along with the speakers, and if you don't like it, ship it back on their dime. You've got nothing to lose by trying it out. If you're happy with it, it's a keeper. If not, then send it back.

Because the Aperion sub has no financial commitment, there really is no reason not to try it out - even if you also order the Hsu, because then you could try them out side by side.

I have some Aperions. They sound awesome as heck, and very well built. You'll enjoy them. The black ones are piano gloss black, and look fantastic. The cherry is reported to be furnature grade and equally impressive.

I already owned my big Hsu before I bought my Aperions, and its just flat black. I agree wirth Adam, you have NOTHING to lose by trying out the Aperion sub. Remember with Aperion you have a year to trade in / Trade up. Just keep all packing material. So you could get the Aperion sub and later send it back for a full price paid towards a bigger sub. Same with the 532's. I went from 632 LR bookshelves to the 633 Towers.

Thanks for the suggestion. If HSU and Aperion are close in comparison then I can settle for Aperion. But if HSU is much better then I can get HSU and Aperion to compare and return one.

Since you have listened to both, which is better? or let me ask in a different way, if you were to buy it now, which would you buy?.
