PSB T55 for $585

has anyone delt with avdepot.net concerning speakers? i have some psb image t55's coming this tuesday and and "av" says they are a-stock at this price. i was really sweating it until the tracking # came out but now i'm worried about what sort of condition they'll be in. that is for $585. i thought i was getting a helluva good deal until 10 mins after placing my order i found another website who had the t55's for $10 more but they were "blimished". i just hope they play fine.

I would seem $585 was a very good deal for the 55's. Saturdayaudio is selling t45's @ $499.00 and the t55's@ $699.00. I hope you have no issues and they play fine. They are an excellent speakers having auditioned the t45's.
In most cases non authorized dealers can sell for less and often take care of issues, themselves.

If they are new, then they should be in the standard packaging. They are packaged very well. They should arrive fine unless they drove a forklift through it.

Good news Bad news

Good news the PSB's arrived in excellent shape, no blimishes, considering the original box looked as if it had been around the world 3 times with all the previous shipping labels ripped off and replaced for each and every journey. The packing seemed to be sufficient although it was a mix of once original but now broken and taped together styrofoam and torn and folded up moving boxes and in 1 box was a bunch of packing peanuts. They both however came with all the hardware (hardwood feet and carpet spikes + the wrench) and the booklets including the warranty card. Bad news, the warranty card, seems as though the warranty is already VOID seeings how the serial# and model# was conviently removed. The sticker that I assume contained this info is now just a sticky empty spot on the bottom backside of each speaker. Good news, in the 10 mins I got to hear them between lugging them downstairs from the UPS truck till having to leave on our 6 hour journey to Tennessee for the holiday, they seemed to play fine. I can't wait to get back home now and reset the reciever for them and try to forget about the missing stickers on the back!

If they sounded fine from the get go, then I wouldn't worry to much. Just enjoy your thanksgiving dinner and consider yourself warned, when the next great deal comes around.

another av depot inquiry

I just read duncan's post about his experience with av depot. I am seriously considering purchasing 5 Polk LC 265i's from them and have gotten some serious heebeejeebies about it. Like why in the world are their prices so much lower than ANYONE else? Just want to be a little bit more assured before i spend $1500 for something I may not even receive, or broken or whatever else. Just want to know if anyone else has had any experience with them since duncan's. Thanks. Jim

How Long from AV Depot

Hi everyone, I ordered some PSB T55's from AVdepot on Sunday Feb. 17th. They immediately got money from my paypal account when I completed the transaction. I have gotten no shipping info or anything from them other than an original email, which everytime I click on the link, says..."Processing"...

How long did it take for you to get your speakers? I would expect shipping to occur 2-3 business days after ordering, but I am on my 4th day and starting to get concerned. It is now late in the day on Feb. 21st.

AV Depot buys overstock merchandise, going out of business merchandise, large lots, etc.; then resells it. Merchandise in the most part is A-Stock, but you will have a hard time getting warranty from the manufacturer; if needed.

My previous post details what AV Depot sells. Be careful as they probably don't have a steady supply stream of the same makes and models. They might have run out, and maybe waiting for some to come in to fill your order. If a reasonable time, 5-7 working days, goes by and you receive no response, place a claim with Paypal; they will either credit your Paypal account, or be obligated to respond so Paypal doesn't take any actions. The Paypal advantage.

Jury is still out--AVDepot

I got my speakers eventually, however one was damaged. The styrofoam in both speaker boxes was in shambles. I am suprised they both were not damaged. I have been working with AVDepot. They filed a claim with UPS and arranged to have UPS pick up the damaged speaker. UPS picked up the box about 10 days ago. I have not recieved a new speaker or gotten any information since. I sent an email 3 days ago inquiring, but no response so far.

I am happy with the undamaged speaker. It appears new even though it looks like the serial number has been removed. That is ok with me as long as it is like new. They sound great. At least for the price. I am upgrading from Infinity RS6 Kappa 6 speakers, which sound really great themselves. So I di not expect a big improvement. I like the looks of the PSB's...the infinitys are a little to 80's looking for my new home theater.

I will let you know how my experience turns out. The only thing to say so far is...if you are in a hurry, look elsewhere...AVDepot does not seem to have these in stock, so they order when you order.

Uh oh! Just do yourself a favor and google some of those words like: brooklyn+cameras+scams or electronics+brooklyn+rip off or anything close to that and you'll quickly get an idea of what I'm talking about.
