How is Crutchfied to deal with?

I'm seeing things in their advertisements "Life time Support".....

I'm going to flush with cash next week, and the Onkyo 705 is on the short list.

The pride themselves in having excellent customer service. I never had much dealings with them, but when I did use them they did a good job. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them, I beleive they are an authorized dealer for everything they sell.

I bought a Infinity PS-12 sub, and had to have the amp replaced, they were cool about the whole thing.

Crutchfields also has been around since I can remember reading stereo review in the '80's. I would trust them again.

They are an excellent etailer, however price is not always their strong suit if you are shopping for the best price. I've used them many times, but I generally only buy if they have some kind of really good sale going on.

Crutchfield is cool to deal with. They do have good customer service. I just think they should be a little cheaper. Their prices are about the same as a store, so you just really save on the tax.

I've bought from them maybe 10-12 times. Slightly higher prices than other places on the net but their customer service makes up for it. They have never gotten an order wrong. Even when I ordered a new receiver a few years ago and it came in damaged by UPS, they overnighted me a replacement and paid for the shipping back on the damaged unit, no questions asked.

I've never had a need for their customer technical help service but from what I hear they are pretty good also.

That is exactly my opinion also!
I've never seen them with the best price.

I've dealt with them on numerous occasions. Earlier this year, I bought my receiver and speakers from them. So far, they have gotten every one of my orders correct. As said above, price is equal to or bit high vs other places on the net, but their customer service more than makes up for it.

I have been very happy with them on the rare occasion I buy online.

As J Garcia said, their pricing is not the most competetive.
From what I've seen their prices are not much better than B&M stores.

Crutchfield pricing is generally MSRP but they do reduce the prices over time and you should take into account tax/shipping/delivery charges if you buy somewhere else or locally. The ease of returns is a plus if you do have a problem with whatever you buy.

I started checking the site every few days and the price of the 52LX177 I was considering went from $4k (MSRP) to $3800 to $3200 in a few weeks or so. At $3200 with no tax and free in-home delivery it was actually slightly cheaper than buying it locally.

They are a little spendy I think, but they have great customer service and selection. I've ordered from them before and I wouldn't hesitate to again.

Thanks for the replies. Honestly I don't mind spending a little bit more for premium service. As long as the vendor delivers.

The last couple of days I've called a couple of other internet dealers.... gasp.... I'm a freakin Noob and I knew more then them (I know next to nothing) about the Onk A/V Receivers. Those outfits where no more then order takers.

i have bought from them a few times and i agree their prices arent the cheapest but i did get a realy good deal on my alpha 20's from them because they were being discontunied for the beta series and there costumer service is untouchable. got a good deal on my dvd player i just bought from them but i used my discover card rewards points so that can be a plus too....

I agree with what people have said. I've experienced great customer service from them, with no hassles whatsoever when I've decided to return items (with free return shipping, even).

Before the internet they were the only saving grace of electronics if you lived in a town with no Best Buy. Today they are the mail-order niche of carrying better stuff than Wal*Mat or Circuit City, but not the ultra high-end stuff (except maybe for a $6500 Marantz monoblock).

I've ordered from them before, but everything was OK and I didn't have to call them back, so I can't vouch for their customer support.

I think they have one of the best customer service. I've bought plenty of electronics from them ranging from $250 to $1,000. Had to return items to them just because I did not like the item after trying. Crutchfield was extremely nice. No hassle whatsoever. Love their service. They may not always have the lowest price, but sometimes they do. For example, they are selling (pre-order) the Samsung combo player BD-UP5000 for $800, which is the lowest price I've seen (retail is $1,000).

I've also bought things from onecall.com, J&R Music World, Amazon.com, & Buy.com. Crutchfield is one of the best customer service.
