Hk Avr 347

I'm looking to buy a new receiver. Any input on the AVR 347

I used to be a fan of HK, but recently I feel like they've fallen behind. Their audio quality has always been superb but their video processing over the last two years hasn't kept up with competitors.

I actually 'upgraded' from my HK AVR7300 to a Denon 2308 because of the HDMI processing and comparable power output.

I feel though that these days, you get more bang for your buck from other brands.

The 247 and 347 does. Keep in mind people are complaining about the lack of LFE boost for PCM signals (ie. Codecs decoded in player and sent to receiver as PCM).

he probably means that the 2308 is manufacturer rated at 100w x 7

I meant comperable in the sense that, sure, the 7300 could drive all channels at 110wpc... but I don't think in my entire lifetime of ownership that I've ever demanded that much power from it.

So I felt the Denon was a decent compromise
