like the title states ... do you think i would see a night and day difference from my current klipsch synergy 10" to a svs pb 10 or 12 or hsu 12?
my setup is in the basement with brick walls and tiled flooring and i have some void issues and some "mode" issues I believe mode is the correct term when some things are extremley bassy at my gain setting and others are not with the klipsch, even though i have been happy with it, im just looking to upgrade to a 12" unless the hsu or svs 10" would sound alot better.
another thing to mention is unfortunately with the room i have my seating in the middle because its 27' long and my screen is only 55" so im sitting 12' back from the front stage. I dont want to spend 500-600 bucks unless it will be worth it compared to my current sub
Thanks
i should also mention im all about dvds and xbox 360 games on my setup. i have subs in my car for music

Yes.

The Klipsch is simply outclassed by the other two. If your budget is 5-600, may also want to check out the SVS 25-31 PCi.

Yes, the SVS will blow the Klipsch away, definitely look into the 25-31PCi, the sound quality and power of that sub will be a night and day difference over what you have now, and if you don't like it, send it back and you will only be out shipping costs.

Since you say you are all about DVD's and games, I'd suggest the SVS. The Hsu might have been a better choice if music was your priority. Either way, it sounds like you are in great need of some room treatment, esp. bass traps.

are you guys talking about the tubed subs, those look crazy, almost like a catscratch post, lol. whats there retun policy at svs as far as just not liking the way it sounds? how long do you have to return it for that?

SVS has a 45 day return policy, but shipping costs are not refundable.

But I have to say that it is unlikely that you will want to return one if you get the right size sub for your room, unless it is to upgrade.
agreed... and yes, the cylinder subs are the ones that look like cat scratch posts. They are every bit as good as their box counterparts.

If you're happy with your Klipsch, you won't be returning an SVS or Hsu...

I have a 10" Klipsch that serves as a little table now...

I am really on the fence now guys, there is also the titanic kits and i just heard about elemental designs wich happens to be located 30 minutes away from where i live so i will be going over there for sure to have a listen, but there just seems to be quite a few other options out there for 500-600 bucks that will blow my klipsch away. Im trying to sell myself on the svs but there are some of these other reputable brands that have the same power or more in the same size for 100 -200 less and some of them even offer free shipping. I am in need of some sound advise.I would just try the svs but if i didnt think it was worth the money and wanted to send it back im out 100 bucks in shipping ouch
Im looking at a 12"
svs
hsu
eD
titanic kit
hell the eD 12" is only $450 but i dont want to upgrade for a long time so if the svs is that much better id shell out the extra $200 but if i need a freaking spl meter and test frequencies to see the difference ill go with the cheaper one Thanks

Just wondering what brand of subs do you have in your vehicle and what size? I sell car audio for a living. :p:p

The Hsu Research VTF-2 MK3 is $499.00 plus $53.00 for shipping. If you don't like the scrtching post SVS. 12", goes down to 18hz, and will make anything from klipsch cry with envy.

But go visit eD. I bet you'll be sold on the 15" monster.

The tube shaped Hsu subs are no longer available. It's a box or nothing if you want a Hsu now.

well i just got back from elemental design, i wasted my time there, I should have asked if they had any subs out for me to listen to before i drove over there.
They did have the 550w 15" out, man that box is huge, But they dont offer a money back guarantee. i can try it for 30 days but if i dont like it there is a 15% restocking fee.So i just wasnt all that thrilled with them, Im sure its a good product. I am not bashing them at all, i just think i will spend my money elsewhere

Brick walls, I'm guessing concrete floor, yep, that construction will exacerbate modal issues.

Yes, a SVS or Hsu is an improvement over the Klipsch, but unless something is done about the acoustics, any sub will sound boomy (and generally bad) in that room.

way out of the price range. i see the pb12 plus is on sale for 799, if they only had free shipping. I have been looking at epik now they are supposed to call me back later im looking at this one http://www.epiksubwoofers.com/KnightCabinet.html
Its 599 right in my price range this should have more out put than the svs pb 12 nsd
any opinions on epik subs,
i know this next question should be in another thread but any quick remedies for my room in the basement i should take a picture and show you what im dealing with
