I had repair person come in to repair my 42" LG becouse I was getting white and red dots all over. He fix the problem and also he lowered the voltage inside my tv telling me I'll get better picture. To me it looks that my picture is not as bright and colors are not strong. By lowering the voltage did he dicrese signal strenght and by doing that did he make my picture worse?

Most curious.
What kind of a repair person was this, from where, whom did he represent?
What did he actually do, did you see? Was he playing and adjusting the on screen menus? If so, he attempted to calibrate the TV but he may have failed?
What did he do to fix your dot problems?
I am not aware of an ability to change voltage on TVs as that would imply the 120V input voltage.
Proper calibration will certainly look different from what you may have been used to as the TVs out of the box and just consumer adjusted without the proper knowledge is not the appropriate calibrated TV needed to reproduce studio presentations.

He was LG repair guy. He oped tv and fix the dot problem by, as he called it, upgrading the software, by welding something. The he used this instrument that measured something in numbers and he lowered-as he said the voltage, and he said it will make picture better. I would like to know what could had he done whit this instrument?

Interesting. Was this at a store or a service center for LG?
Upgrading software doesn't involve welding anything, unless he was adding parts or boards to the set or replacing them.
Did you see any test patterns on the TV, if you saw what he was doing while he was working on it? If so, he was calibrating it but who knows how well.
Where are you located as it sounds like overseas someplace:)

You may want to try the customer adjustments in the menu and see where are they set?

Thanks for responding. He came to my house and LG repair center gave me his phone #. This is what he wrote on the wok order:
"Upgrade new firmware and set VS to 191V".
I'm assuming VS stands for voltage strength since he told me he was going to lower voltage.

I am not sure if that is a voltage that it represents as it would seem rather large value in a solid state TV. But, it could be any number of other adjustments in the service or factory menu with such numbers.
Was this person from the repair center or one of their subcontractors? If you are really interested to find out maybe a call to the service center and asking them what this adjustment is about?

It was a subcontractor.I'll call LG and try to find out what these numbers represent.
