Just curious, are you guys dormmates?
We probably would be if we didn't live an hour away from each other. We travel from time to time and sometimes, we buy/sell/trade equipment from each other.

No, he is a friend from back in my home town, we have similar interests in used audio/video gear.:) He was with me in Indianapolis when I made the purchase. I had planned on going to Indianapolis but I don't like to go alone because the drive sucks and most of the pawn shops are located in the most classy neighborhoods.:D I figure muggers are less likely to attack two men rather than a loner.;)

Cool. Thanks for letting me know, guys.

It's great that you two are friends and live close enough to swap gear. All of my friends around here are married, so we don't swap gear...I just end up giving them my older stuff. Sadly, it's not that they couldn't talk their wives into buying the stuff. Rather, it's just that with kids, they don't care about this stuff enough to buy anything anymore (or are just too tired to think about it). However, I do normally get a nice home-cooked meal out of it, so I'm not complaining. :)

The class is second to none, I guarantee it. And I can think of WHY the driving sucks :D

BTW, I still got your 9mm :D :D :D LOL

nice find, good looking amp too ... looks Bryston-like :)

how much did you score for it?

except maybe for the 8ohm limit, it looks like a heavy duty amp

Actually it reminds me more of the EV series Pro amps that I used to use on the road... (in my former life I played in a band)... nearly exact on/off and level controls.

I traded a DSP-A1000 and a JVC RX-DP9 for it... I forgot how much Seth=L had to pay...

Ah, updates. I put a set of Straightwire interconnects between my pre-amp and amplifier, and the hum is gone.

I think the rest of the noise is lack of power conditioning.

All your cables are crap, go to monoprice.com for your cabling needs.:D From the looks of your current cables they are from the 70's, LOL.

Any updates on the amp? How are you liking it so far? Also, is the sound more laid back or in your face (bassy).

200 Watts into 8-ohms with less than 0.05% T.H.D. (Total Harmonic Distortion), over a bandwidth of 20Hz to 20kHz, both channels driven. 350 Watts into 4-ohms with less than 0.05% T.H.D., over a bandwidth of 20Hz to 20kHz, both channels driven. seams to me its bridgable down to 4 ohms sterio nice find there

Congratulations Yetti, sorry Seth.

That is a really nice amp. I used to rent one like this before I got my Bryston back in the '80s when I had DJ gigs in large halls. It's very comparable to the original 4B.

Don't be sorry for me, I don't need 200 watts per Boston Acoustics HD10. That would be way overkill.
