Micro Seiki (MB series) and affordable TT oldies

I'm having an opportunity to purchase functional MB-12 Micro Seiki (probably with non-original cartridge) for about 100$. Can you recommend these budget series of MS for purchase. Does it have any advantages over other devices of that time? Sorry, I'm new to whole TT stuff

Any good alternatives in this price range? It's very important to me how the device looks, as I'm not a big fan of 70's-80's designs.

I was also offered Onkyo cp-1007a (roenck.de/onkyo/cp-1007a.html) and Sansui p900 (sansui.us/Turntables.htm) but these models seem to be way below middle range

and am very astounded by the quality of the sound that it delivers. I payed $499.0 Cdn.

For a $100, you won't find anything comparable in quality that you are getting. No where's close. Where are you buying this from? Do you know how its been treated, handled, looked after? Turntables are the easiet link in the chain to get busted or put of alighnment. So be very careful about the purchase. If you have a chance to audition, try and bring a recording with sustained mid to low piano notes. If the turntable hasn't been maintained properly, you'll hear it right away with the piano.

3db - I have no budget for any of Pro-Jects. I wish I would have, but it's a first TT of mine.

fmw - Is it good purchase even considering some non-original parts, I mean if you are not burned MS collector, is there a reason to buy any from MB line (I know MRs and higher are cool)?
