Hello all,

I'm holding $1,000 in Best Buy gift cards, and decided I want to watch movies on the big screen. Bestbuy.com shows 3 projectors in the price range I'm looking ... all appear to be "5 stars" on various web sites, and wanted feedback from those in the know. the 3 models are:

. Optoma HD65
. Optoma HD70
. Mitsubishi HC1500

I'd really appreciate any pros/cons of these models relative to each other, or strong opionions on preferences. Also, I'm planning on projecting on to a white wall (vs. expensive screen) ... any thoughts on this topic as well?

Thanks for any input you can provide.

Regards

Ok, looking at other posts I'm realizing additional information would help. I'm looking to project 110" (diagonally). The ceiling is 91" high; however, there's a ceiling beam 10' 9" away from the wall that hangs down 11.5" and is 6.5" wide. Then the ceiling continues on at 91". Guess I'm concerned if I ceiling mount behind the beam, it could interfere with the image being projected ... unless I use some kind of riser instead of a ceiling mount. Don't know if this is helpful, but wanted to include.

Hi bigscreen,
I am also a newbie to home cinema systems but have started reading a lot about this topic needed. The only thing I can tell you is that Mitsubishi is recommended A LOT on different websites. On this home theater site for example they say that the Mitsubishi screens have excellent quality.
Therefore I would go for this brand.

Hope I could help,
Paul
