I am running a 661 to a Sharp projector via an HDMI cable bit I cannot get the OSD to display. Any suggestions??
The HDCP (copy protection) portion of HDMI prohibits any modification to an HDMI signal in any way, including overlay of OSD displays. So, if the source signal comes in to your receiver via HDMI, no OSD will appear. If your source comes in via any other cable, and is converted to HDMI, then the OSD info can be added before the conversion to HDMI, and HDCP doesn't apply.
Unfortunately, my 2600 (and all other modern receivers) adheres to HDCP's over-restrictive paranoia. (sigh)
