Absolutely sure! Come and see by yourself; I'll show you. We take that price, add 10% plus taxes and then you get our employee discount.

And you guys find it sick when I tell you the cost of a 2500$ par of speakers (RC-70) is 525$? Then wait 'till I tell ya that the veritas line (v2.4i @ 5500$ a pair) costs 875$ to futureshop.
After reading your post here and over at AVS, I believe the cost is somewhere in the middle? However, as recent as 3 weeks ago Future shop held a friends & family sale online and offered rc30's and 70's nearing 40-45% off:). So IMO, I can live with that, when I'm ready to buy!;)

I own two sets of Energy Speakers at bought at a reduced price.

I bought my Connoisseurs at close-out and paid 1/3 of their normal retail price and just picked up a set of Take 5.2 at ¼ of original price.

I also purchased 4 Onix Reference 1.5 speakers that sold for $1,000 each for $350 a speaker; deals can be had if you don’t mind getting “last years” model or discontinued products. I refuse to pay retail prices for speakers as their markup is much worse than jewelry & clothing which typically have a 100% markup.

Yeah, I just saw those the other day at my local futureshop. They won't have any stock until late 2008 though.

I don't care what price they are, I'd still buy them.

You better re-check your facts Jewelry and clothing have mark-up near 200% or more. Think about it. Most Designer T-shirts cost over $20.00 each. They are made in sweat shops for say $1.00 to $2.00 maybe less. Jewelry is not quite as bad as clothing but is much worse than speakers.

Most speakers are at about 45%-50% markup in a Brick and Mortar retail shop.

You can't put a price on finding that special speaker that sounds perfect to your ears. You could spend years (not necesarily) listening to speakers, and then one day hear that perfect pair (to your ears). It's like a match made in heaven at any price, IMO. :D

Would you mortgage your home for a pair of speakers?! I mean... I've heard of some pair of speakers that cost 250K$ I think I could find a better use to that money
