Surrounds hissing in 2 channel operation?

Well, as the title suggests, I recently noticed audible hissing coming out of the surrounds while listening to some CD's. There shouldn't be sound coming from the surrounds when listening to a 2 channel recording. I will say that it is only noticable if sitting near the speaker. Any ideas on how to correct the problem? I went through and played with the different modes on my processor, but this has not corrected the problem. I will also mention that I haven't fully calibrated the system yet. I just haven't had time, so maybe this post is a little premature. But, if anyone has experienced a similar issue, please share your thoughts and maybe it'll save me some time. Thanks all.

What popped into my head first was that I get that on my receiver when I have it set to auto-detect the surround mode. So, even if it sets it to "Stereo" when auto-detecting, I still get some hiss from the center channel and rear speakers. If I manually set it to "Stereo", that hiss goes away.

Sounds like that's not your problem, though, if you already played around with the processor settings.

The LMC-1 is known to hiss a little; I actually don't notice it unless I get up to the speaker and I certainly don't notice it while listening. If it's really loud, then it could be something else. I'd start by checking the cables, modes, and db settings.

Hey adam,
Thanks for the quick response. I did mess with the different modes, but not saying I didn't overlook something. I'll check it again tonight. Thanks.

Hey, thanks for the input. Nice to hear from someone who has the LMC-1. The hissing isn't very loud and I can only hear it if right next to the speaker, but just wondering what may be causing it. There is no hissing from the center channel, just the surrounds. I will check the cables though. Thanks.
