Plasma, LCD, or DLP

I hope to get a 1080p TV next year and want to know which is best...DLP, LCD, or plasma. From what I read in CR, plasma is cheaper and has darker blacks and lighter whites than LCD. So what are the cons to plasma? Should I even consider DLP, or stick to LCD or plasma?

Thanks!!

I personally hate Rear Projection sets. I havent ever seen one I thought looked half as good as a plasma or LCD. They are cheaper though.

The only downside to Plasma is the risk for burn in. If you watch CNN all day or play multi-hour video game marathons, you should think about something other than a plasma. Otherwise they offer the highest image quality of any of the options you've listed. Panasonic has some excellent 1080p sets that just keep coming down in price. Keep in mind that it might look funky in the store because the settings are cranked to make it bright. Calibrate it, and it's absolutely beautiful.

I know about burn in but do not watch that much TV. As for video games, as long as the image is changing won't that prevent burn in? My wife likes to DDR and I play some games as well. But our gaming is not "multi hour"...maybe 1-2 at most (for now, at least ;))
