I am going to have a Pioneer VSX-82TXH AND I am wondering if there exist a way to control the receiver from the outside of my home with a remote (wireless or not) because I will put a pair of speakers on the patio....
:confused::confused:

Thanks, Rash

Sure, an RF remote. RF has a range of between 100 and 150 feet.

There are many choices but I'd suggest looking at the Home Theater Master remotes from http://www.universalremote.com. An MX-350 and its associated RF basestation will work perfectly. The lower priced RF20 will work as well but lacks a few features (that most people won't need anyway).

Do you think this one is strong enough to travel 50 feet trough outside walls???
:eek:

Good deal though...

:)
Yes, it should be fine. Even the IR on those remotes is powerful enough to work from 50 feet (if you have line of sight).

URC RF remote

I have used my URC remote outside 40-50 feet away from the basestation, but I have a couple windows on each side of the house.

If you have outdoor speakers, then it might be move convenient to install a VC outside, close to the speakers. You could use the remote to change the source.

It was suggested that it might be simpler to just have a volume control in the patio. You would set the receiver inside to play whatever you wanted to play and then just manually control the volume outside with the volume control.

You don't need a volume control outside if you have the RF remote. The volume control is not related to the remote and that is why there is no mention of it in the manual.

I had conteplated just getting the Volume controle to the patio, but where do I buy this?...I will surely get the remote also, but if it doesn't work well through the walls, i want a backup... I will be closing the walls soon (new house) and if there is a wire to bring to the patio, now or never ....

Thanks...

Rash...
