I know most of you have seen my system and the progress over the past 8 months but I wanted to officially post it in the correct section of this great forum.

Unfortunately I found this site after my first attempt of building a HT (1st picture) so it ended up costing a little more than it should have. You guys have been great help and are just fun to talk to and mess around with.

I have added a picture of the 99.9% completed system but also check my photobucket for additional pictures.

Special thanks go out to:

Andrew- great advice all the time
Adam- great advice
Warp- I copied his system in the beginning but used cheaper gear
Steven- no useful advice but I like him anyway
JC- very helpful
JG- lots of help
Agarwalro- nice recommendation on the Panny even though it ended up in the bedroom
Seth- the most knowledge on various used junk in the market
AcuDefTechGuy- spouting off specs that have little meaning but boy does he love his speakers.
And all others that have helped me

I still need to get some room treatments but other than that; I am very satisfied with how this whole thing turned out!

Great setup Greg. Looks very nice:D.

Man that is a big TV. I was in BB the other day and checked it out. I guess my brain did not process how much bigger 73" is than 42"

Very nice set-up, Greg! And you finally got a photo of it with some good lighting. :D

I'm just waiting for the day that you post a photo of your system and there are five blue LEDs glowing on the MPS-1. :)

Very nice system that you've built there. How do you like the Paradigms?

Paradigms fit my ear well; some people like them and some dont. It was strange because I was against them in the beginning thinking they were over hyped and you are just paying for a name; they werent even on my audition list but when I heard them they climbed to the top of my list. I was able to get a really good deal (300 off the 40's, 300 off the center and 1,000 of the sub) so I came out happy.

IMO the Studio series is an outstanding value of price vs. performance. :D

Very sleek look. Components are clearly the result of a thorough A-holic brainwashing. Love it!!!

Lovin' that monster Mitsu tv!! So when is your official Cowboys party, I'm just in Plano, and can bring the beer! ;)

But one question, how many times have you had to pick up the picture frame off the floor after that sub shook it away!:)

Good deal, Greg. I will let you know the next time I am headed west, as I have some good friends out in Ft. Worth I need to see more often, and would always like to make another friend. If you find yourself heading east over to Plano sometime let me know as well! :)

I like the clean lines and blue lights. Very neat looking.

I do have 2 questions based on this pic,

1) What do you have sitting right on top of the receiver? It is recommended that you have at least 2-3 inches breathing room above the vents.
2)The glass table could be causing first reflection related distortion in the location from which the picture was taken.

The recommend breathing room is recommended mainly if the receiver is pushing speakers as that is when they tend to heat up. If the receiver isn't pushing much wattage, as is the case when sending a signal to an amp, it really shouldn't get hot decoding audio and passing video.

FYI its a PS3

2)The glass table seems to be blocking off the center. It could be effecting the soundstage in multi-channel sources.
With the new credenza (that picture is from the old credenza) and the centers new placement and seemingly upward angle I doubt the table is inhibiting too much if at all, but if it is its the wife who gets to move it not him :p;).

This photo of Greg's is dated. I' pretty sure he has a new credenza that allows a little more breathing room. Look at his pic at the beginning of this thread.
