I've been reading the specs for the Hitachi P50S601 and P50V701. Hitachi says these TVs are FULL HD and that the HDMI inputs are 1080p compatible but don't say the display is 1080p although some of the reviews I've read do. Anybody know for sure?
(title should read 1080i or 1080p)

The displays are both 1920 X 1080 which is full 1080p resolution. Flat panels can only have a native resolution that is progressive so you can rest assured as these specs mean it is full 1080p.

One thing I will point out about these sets is that you will likely not be able to see the difference between 720p and 1080p unless you sit fairly close to these 50" displays. So if you are in the market for a new display of that size don't get too caught up in the 1080p buzzword.
