I knew something was rotten in Denmark, when she didn't bring home any medals in her last Olympic outing, versus the 5 medals she brought home from Sydney.

This is just so sad. You can't even say she would have brought home gold without cheating, because she obviously couldn't. After leveraging a false lawsuit against the guy at BALCO (slimeball) to save endorsements and money deals; she finally comes clean.

Whatever.

I just hope when they start testing PGA players Tiger doesn't break my heart.

Remember, they were "testing" all throughout those olympic games. She passed dozens and dozens of tests.

Todays athlete can be ahead of every test out there if they hook up with the right lab/doctor.

It sucks.

I vote that Steroid usage should be mandatory. I want to see some badass super-humans throw trucks and play soccer with a cinder block.

Pro sports suck anyways. Too much politics, people just play for money.

She has failed many tests, but just like carl lewis mo green, micheal johnson and many other she was the face of us track and field. Too much money riding on her. They were not going to lose that money. She admitted it, they didnt catch her. IF she wouldnt have said nothing she would still be sitting pretty.

Roids have been used in pro' sports since the 1960's. Back hen it was just thought of as a supplement. I believe that 90% of pro athletes that play sports requiring speed and strength are taking something. IT is apart of the game. They get paid to produce, and nothing else but produce. That is how they eat. As long as the demand is their it will continue. The fans want fast races, homeruns, and big hits. I say let them take it. Makes the sports exciting

Pro sports could fix this problem, but they choose not to. There's only upside to steroid use and not much deterrent.

If the penalty was:
1. Forfeiture of salary
2. Lifetime ban from the sport

...you'd see a lot less use.

Think stiffer penalties don't work? Just ask Bill Belicheck... :)

that is tru but if they do do that then they would be losing to much money fan wise. people dont want to see pro players with highschool skills.

I'm not a rabid sports fan but I have to disagree with that notion. Does that mean that all athletes have to be on the juice to get 'Pro' skills? That makes no sense to me.

As far as we know Hank Aaron wasn't on any type of steroids and having Barry Bonds break his long-standing home run record in the midst of steroid abuse allegations kind of makes his 'accomplishment' suspect, don't ya think?

No they dont but they do if they want to have long careers to perform at that high level. It is hard to compete at such a high level all the time. THe juice helps them recover faster.

I have to agree with MDS here. Bonds has always said he never "knowingly" took steroids. As far I'm concerned, they should have reset his HR count back to zero. Him, Sosa, and Mcguire. Bunch of crooks in my book.

All I know about Carrot Top is that he is a bad actor and unfunny comedian. Was he on steroids? If so, why? (I wasn't aware he was an athlete.)

Carrot Top used to be skinny. He wasn't built at all.

Now look at him.

I had no idea. I guess the steroids must have worked, as that is quite a transition. Of course, even if they didn't have serious side effects, I would be against their use in a competitive situation (unfair advantage.)
When I was at the University of Montana, one of the football players went crazy on steroids. Before he was caught, he had smashed over 100 windshields with a baseball bat. (Lucky he didn't kill somebody.)
