Receiver recommedations with JBL speaker

I am new here and was just looking for some suggestions of what receiver specs i would need to run JBL stage venue floor speakers with JBL Voice center channel and JBL Balcony bookshelf speakers. The floor speakers and center channel are 150W 8ohm and the bookshelf are 100W 8ohm. Does this mean i need a receiver that does 100W per channel? Sorry for the newbie question, any help would be appreciated.

If you go to JBL's website and paste the following extensions after jbl(dot)com you can see what speakers I am referring to

Floor speakers

No you do not need a receiver that can push 100 watts to the speakers. That is the maximum the speaker is recommended for and is usually rather conservative (they can take more than that for short periods of time).

I'm not familiar with those particular JBLs but I have had an Onkyo and JBL combination for years and think they do well together. I'd recommend Onkyo for other reasons but you can choose any receiver that has the features you need at a price you can live with it - none of them will have trouble driving JBLs to excruciating volumes.

Sorry, being a new member I am unable to post links. Apparently I need 5 posts before I can include URL's in my posts.

The main thing I need is HDMI, but other than that I guess the codecs Dolby Digitial, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS. And I only need a 5.1 not a 7.1
I don't know what kind of wattage per channel I should get.
Basically, I want a receiver that can exploit the full potential of the speakers but I don't need any more than that.

Yamaha RX-V661 and the Onkyo TX-SR605 come to mind.

For even more budget minded consider the Onkyo TX-SR604 which should be fairly inexpensive.

I'll sell you my Onkyo 804 for $300. It works perfectly and is in mint condition. I have the manual, remote, etc.
