Studiotech AV furniture?

Having looked over the StudioTech website that is advertised here on Audioholics, my wife and I have developed in interest in their 69" low boy cabinet and a pair of the shorter matching tower cabinets for media storage. I'm just looking for feedback from anyone who is using any of the StudioTech gear. Thanks.

I have Studiotech SP series speaker stands and an HF-3 component stand. I am very happy with both and Studiotech's customer support so much so that I had my dad order some stuff for his HT.

The build quality is great and their CS is amazing too. My HF-3 came in on a Thursday with a manufacturer defect. I called in and told them I was asked to supply a picture which I did and on Saturday I had the replacement part no hassle at all.

Hi, sorry that the following opinion has little bearing for fmw, since he is not looking for speaker stands.

I got very tall 36" Studio Techs for surrounds. Unfortunately, at this height, they do not have the internal wire management, but those stupid stick on clips. Most have fallen off already, and I am using tape. Fyi, for those who care. Otherwise, build is great as avaserfi noted, and I like the classy looking adjustable spikes and covers.

My company sells the StudioTech gear and we have been really pleased. Great build quality. Always good packaging. Our showroom has almost the identical setup to what you described except we use the full size towers. Definitily a good choice.

Thanks. My center channel speaker is 18 1/2" wide by 9 1/2" tall. Will it fit in the center portion of the lowboy cabinet?

FMW are you looking at the Ultra series furniture or the HF or PS series furniture?

I have the U-60 and U-22D.

The cabinets themselves are *very* sturdy, with iron tubing for a frame. You could literally put hundreds of pounds on them and they would hold up. They're large inside and well ventilated for components. The doors have nice, heavy hinges. So far so good.

The finish is better than most "assemble it yourself" furniture, but nowhere near quality furniture like Ethan Allen. The wood veneer doesn't have any depth and probably won't fool anyone into thinking it's real wood. The metal grate mesh covering on the doors also rattles on mine when they open and close. It also poses a problem sometimes for the remote, as the holes aren't big enough to provide an unobstructed view of the components. The upside is you really can't see the components behind the doors. Because of the grates, i usually end up leaving the doors open when using the equipment.

Sturdiness: 5/5
Finish Quality: 3/5
Value: 4/5
Function: 4/5

I thought the finish was wood veneer. If that's not the case, then I suppose black would be the way to go.

Currently I'm using an old TV stand I had for my 36" tube TV and a couple of black audio racks for the components. My wife wants to hide everything and that appeals to me too. I'm tempted to just move the media to another room and leave what I have which is very practical, albeit not terribly attractive.

I hadn't thought about the grates. I do like to see the displays on the components. I use the receiver display to set volume and I sometimes look at the timers on the players. I thought hiding them with the ability to operate the remote would be cool, but I don't like the idea of operating the system with the doors open because I can't see the displays.

I appreciate the feedback.
