Thanks for the pointer to the comparison between Axiom and Rockets.

I think I am going to order the Rocket's tonight.

Had a question about the center. Would any of the towers function better as a center than the RSC200?

From what I understand that center channel (bigfoot) is awesome.
True. But I heard about a new center channel soon from AV123.

If a tower can be used for the center, I can do that today and later when I purchase a center update (if I should need one), I can move the tower that role plays as a center intially to a seperate zone later.

A tower can be used as a center channel with no problem.

Please tell me your not planning on using it laying on its side, and everything will be fine.. :(

Which is the question I am asking.

Can I use any of the towers as the center and if technically so, would that present a much better sound stage (placed either horizontally or vertically) than the conventional center.

I'm sure you could use "Any" of the towers as a center channel. But I would use the same tower as your main L/R. I would not use it laying on it's side.

I would also ask here.

Generally you would not want to use a floor stander as a center channel laying on its side....

Now if you can use the floorstander as your center, and standing as a floorstander the way it was designed, you have the best posible layout one could ask for... (the horizontal center channel is a compromise in sound quality for asthetics) also and however unfortunate... most companies do not sell in single speaker distribution.... I think you could work that out with AV123, as they are truly music lovers over there, and would want someone to obtain what they want... expecially if it is the proper way of setting up your home theater....

Good luck in your adventure, and know that AV123 have a very large and happy following....

Boy, I just took a beating from my wife for suggesting that now would be a good time to get some RS450s. Apparently, remodelling our bathroom is a higher priority.

Well, if you work fast, you could have the bathroom remodel started before the RS450s show up. I am assuming, of course, that you placed the order anyway. :D

The free Reference speakers with purchase of $1500 or more AV123 speakers are gone now. :(

The deal post from the deals forum also appears to be pulled out.

Instead they are offering X-S loudspeakers instead (currently under development!)

I have ordered the a pair of RS1000 Sig for mains and the RSC200 Sig center yesterday when they had the Reference bonus. I hope I receive the Reference Bonus :D

I am now considering ordering the surrounds and am thinking whether to do the towers (RS850) for surrounds or just go with the RSS300 surrounds or do a 2+2 mix on those. I am currently waiting on the custom package quote from them (email sent this morning).

I was really hoping to get another set of the Ref 0.5s for the second order - guess I am getting greedy.:D - but hey, the shipping on the towers would set me back by $800 or so total between the two orders if I go with the towers for the surrounds...:(

I was also thinking of pre-ordering the MFW-15s. What do others here think about those?

This will be a 18x22x10 room with valuted ceiling (10' being the lowest height). I might eventually do a false ceiling.

HT/Music - 50/50 though if I had to choose, I will be inclined towards music, so I am thinking the towers for surrounds might be an overkill and $$ could be spent better...

IMO the 850's are over kill as surrounds. I think the 300 will do just fine. I would use the extra cash for a killer subwoofer.

And Congratulations on the purchase. I hope you enjoy, and get many years out of your new speakers. :D
