Umm, nope that didn't do it for me.

You should still be able to get 5.1 in straight mode as long as it's a 5.1 source. No 2 channel to 5.1 conversion though. (Or 5.1 to 7.1 for that matter)
Have you checked to see if that works?

Yes. I failed to mention. Along with 2 channel and 7 channel, the straight mode works as well. And of course Pure direct.
This may seem trivial to some, to me it's a big disadvantage.

Oh, I agree. I love to watch 2 channel TV in PLX2 or Neo6.
Just trying to give you a possible option for watching DVD's or other 5.1 sources until you get a replacement.

Sounds like your proccessor gave out. Not sure what's involved with repairing it.

Well it's off to the repair shop. Actually I'll probally wait till lunch time next Monday.
My line of thinking, at least today, is $200 is my max for repairs.
Anything more than that I'll limp the thing through till spring and replace it when money is more plentiful.
