How you been doing Adam?
Doing great, hyghwayman, thanks for asking! Hope all is well with you, too. Sounds like your antenna building is going very well. Pretty soon, you'll have a small business selling them to people here. :) Heck, for a $1.50 antenna, that thing is awesome!

Hi, newbie post here. This is my first post. I saw Highwayman posted he's from Texas. I'm born and raised Louisiana, but lived outside of Dallas for years. I recently moved to Peru in South America, which brings me to this forum.

I live in the capital city of Lima, situated up in a hill valley, actually pretty much higher than everything around. Because I haven't yet decided on cable or satellite, nor have I purchased my TV and speaker system, I wanted to at least get some basic tv going on this little 20-inch color tv I have. It's about 8 years old, just your basic cheap-O tv.

I built the HDTV antenna to specs. I plugged it in and get about 3 channels on the dial, with a decent picture.

My question is, will this HDTV antenna be my best choice for just receiving regular signals? I wanted to built my own antenna, and this looked like the right choice.

Is there another type antenna I should build for regular reception of standard broadcasts?

NOTES: The Radio Shack did not have the standard Balun, so I bought what should have one built into the adapter.

The forum will not allow me to post the pictures until I reach 5 posts.

Thanks!
Jamie
