The new iPod prohibit the third-party iPod management software

iPod touch come out some days ago, and now we can buy the six generation iPod at Apple Store. But it seems that Apple did something to the iPod. In order to ensure the iTunes music records stores’ status in the retail sector. Apple joined some restrictions about iPod. The latest generation iPod that Apple introduced add a new mechanism to prevent other software to read and write the iPod songs library. Apple adds a SHA1 encryption algorithm to the new iPod iTunesDB database to ensure that only iTunes can read and write the database. The users who are habited to using those easier third party software may be disappointed.

Though we will be forced to use iTunes, we are not forced to use iTunes Store. We can still get free music and video from limewire which many people are still using. You can visit here to learn how to download free music and video to iPod.Of course, MySpace and DailyMotion will also work.

I have a huge collection of DVD movies and video files and I believe that many people have the same situation with me. DVD is VOB. Files. But can only support MP4 format. iTunes cannot rip DVD’s as we know, I use iskysoft DVD to iPod Converter for Mac to do this task. It is not free but worked fairly well.

I find iskysoft DVD to iPod converter for windows at the iSkysoft official website. Since I don’t have windows OS computer. You can have a try .It should be good. I am not sure.

After we have converted the DVD to MP4 format,wo can upload the MP4 files to iPod. Now,using iTunes to sync files to iPod is the only choice we can make. I use iTunes too. But I have found it a bit clunky. So let me show how to sync music and videos.
Select the audio/video files you want to sync from your iTunes library, drag them under "PLAYLISTS", and a new playlist will be created with all the selected files in it. Then you can click the Music menu tab, check the "Selected playlists" option, and select the newly created playlist to sync.
If you want to remove the files, just uncheck the box and you will find the way.

The new Ipods prevent more than as specified above. The new Ipods require an authentication chip in accessories such as docks and cables to have full functionality such as video output. In addition, on the Iphone, the Apple software will break user-made ringtones, only allowing official Apple authorized ones to operate.

Not true...in fact, it just requires another workaround. Also, iToner is available (for the Macs, and a different one for Windows) that is authorized by Apple to put custom made ringtones on the iPhone.

I am not aware of Itoner being an Apple authorized product. It has been 'disabled' by new Itunes versions repeatedly as of this point, and repeatedly 'updated' to work again by the maker of Itoner. The once possible file extension rename trick to make an AAC into a ring tone was also 'updated' and disabled. Coincidence?

I guess I shouldn't have said Apple "authorized" product, maybe approved would've been a better word. If they didn't want it out there, they would go after the software creators. My point was that there is a workaround so that you don't have to pay to have your song "serviced" to use it as a ringtone.
